Master Gardener Classes
Contact: Mannie Bedwell
Fee required. Pre-registration required. 30 to 40 hours worth of classes are offered in various areas of horticulture. Community service hours are required to remain certified. Classes are held in the Spring and in the Fall of each year.

Master Beef Producer Classes

13 or 14 three hour sessions on various aspects of cow calf operations in TN. Fee based program. Usually held in late January thru early April one night per week - once per year. Fills quickly.

Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Training
Contact: Mannie Bedwell - (423) 586-6111
Designed to qualify producers for TN Ag Enhancement Cost Share Funds. Discusses proper treatment of animals, giving vaccines correctly and other beef quality topics. Training is free - Original certification which lasts two years costs $20 for non TN Cattlemen''s Association (TCA) members and $10 for TCA members. Recertification is the same price as certification. $20 for non TCA members and $10 for TCA members.

Private Pesticide Applicator Training

Designed to make PRIVATE applicators eligible to legally apply pesticides on their own farms. Training is free however original certification which lasts three years is $10 and recertification (as long as you don''t let your card expire) is free. Replacement of lost cards is $5. If you charge a fee of any kind then you must get a COMMERCIAL applicators card.
